ERW Tubing for
Agricultural Equipment
Farm equipment lives a hard life. The steel inside it has to take a beating and keep working. We've been making ERW carbon steel tubing for ag builders since 1985.
Built for the Farm
A planter that rolls through wet clay. A spray boom that has to flex without snapping. A grain cart frame that gets parked in the rain six months a year. Farm equipment lives a hard life. The steel inside it has to take a beating and keep working.
Vanex Tube Corporation builds ERW carbon steel tubing for ag equipment makers. We've been at it in Niles, Ohio since 1985, back when the mill ran under the Van Huffel Tube name. Four decades later, the gear is newer. The standards are the same.
We make tube for the high-volume OEMs and the small-shop builders that serve specific niches. Whether the equipment is a $400,000 combine or a $200 livestock gate, the tubing inside it has to hold up.
Applications
- Tractor cab frames and rollover protection structures
- Planter and seed drill frames
- Sprayer booms and chemical line supports
- Grain cart and gravity wagon frames
- Hay rake and tedder arms
- Implement hitches and tongue tubing
- Livestock gates, panels, and chute frames
- Greenhouse arches and high tunnel hoops (round profiles)
- Augers, conveyors, and material handling supports
- Irrigation pipe brackets and pivot frame parts
Built for the Conditions
Ag equipment doesn't get to sit in a clean shop. It sits in fields, barns, and gravel lots — rain, snow, fertilizer dust, salt brine. Our finish options put corrosion defense on the tube before it ever reaches your shop.
Cold Rolled
Superior surface finish for high-precision applications requiring tighter tolerances and a cleaner appearance.
Hot Rolled Black
Standard mill finish for parts that will be painted or thick-coated post-assembly.
Pickled & Oiled
Scale-free, instantly weldable surface. Your shop picks it up ready to cut and weld without surface prep.
Pre-Galvanized G60
Hot-dipped zinc coating applied at the mill — corrosion protection from day one before your shop ever touches it.
Pre-Galvanized G90
Heavier zinc coating for maximum corrosion defense in harsh outdoor environments, wet fields, or wash-down areas.
Our pre-galvanized zinc coating goes on at the mill before the tube is ever cut or welded — giving your parts deep corrosion defense from the moment it leaves us. No paint chip is going to peel and start a rust pocket inside the tube.
Specs & Standards
We make ERW tubing to ASTM A-513 Type 1 and Type 2. That's the standard mechanical tubing spec ag buyers ask for. Every order ships with a full MTR (mill test report) — the chemistry and strength data your quality team needs, included without asking.
Available in round, square, rectangular, and specialty profiles. Custom cut-to-length on request so your shop doesn't pay to scrap drops.

Why Ag Builders Work With Us
A lot of mills run similar gear and turn out roughly the same tube. We don't.
More Forming Stands
Our mill runs more forming stands than the standard setup. More stands means tighter control across the wall and the shape. Square stays square. Rectangular stays rectangular. When your weld jig clamps it down, the tube sits flat the first time — less grinding, less fight, less scrap.
ID Flash Scarfing
On specialty profiles, we clean the inside weld bead off the bore. If you have to run a shaft, cable, or hydraulic line through that tube, it slides through without catching. No drag, no interference.
Burr-Free Round Ends
Round tubing ships burr-free on the ends as standard. Your weld prep crew picks it up ready to go. That saves a step on every joint across an entire run.
Made in America, Ready for Your Shop
The mill is in Niles, Ohio. We ship orders out every week to customers across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky, plus farther out into the corn belt and beyond.
Domestic steel matters in ag. Tariffs shift. Container ships sit in port. Lead times from overseas can blow out without warning. We don't have those problems. When you call, we tell you the lead time and we hit it.
We're also small enough to pick up the phone. Our sales engineers know the steel and the specs. If you're not sure what grade or shape fits your part, call us. We'd rather help you spec it right than ship the wrong thing.
